Way to go Greers Ferry Walleye Club!! We are so proud to call you Friends of Reservoirs! Here's a recent radio feature of the work they've done at Greers Ferry:

A wave of community effort rippled across Arkansas today, drawing attention to the power of local volunteers to boost natural habitats.

Volunteers built hundreds of artificial fish habitats, called “fish structures,” which were placed in Greers Ferry Lake to improve underwater shelter and support a healthier fish population. The project was led by the Greers Ferry Walleye Club in partnership with Arkansas Game & Fish and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Volunteers Construct Hundreds Of "Fish Structures" In Greers Ferry Lake, Arkansas

Volunteers assembled the fish structures on site on Saturday morning. The effort resulted in the creation of hundreds of units ready for deployment. The work was described as a pleasure by participants.

The completed structures will be placed in Greers Ferry Lake. Their purpose is to provide underwater shelter for fish. The lake serves surrounding communities with recreation and fisheries.

These habitats help improve fish health by offering protection and breeding areas. Healthier fish contribute to a more robust lake ecosystem. A thriving lake supports local economies and recreation.

The Greers Ferry Walleye Club led the initiative, partnering with Arkansas Game & Fish and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The collaboration ensured resources and expertise were available. Organizers expressed gratitude, saying “THANK YOU!”
