Please describe the project objective(s).

S: Specific - Construct 10 fish habitat structures using PVC, perforated piping, and natural brush,
and install them at existing but deteriorating marked brush piles in Lake Ray Roberts.
* Note: Each of the 10 habitats will be constructed by connecting two 60" x 60" x 30" frames.
When joined, the overall dimensions of each completed habitat will measure 60" x 60" x 60".
M: Measurable - Successfully enhance 10 of the approximately 30 designated brush piles, with
each site receiving a new, fully installed habitat structure.
A: Achievable - Build and deploy one to two structures every four to six weeks, following a
consistent schedule until all 10 are completed.
R: Relevant - Support and complement Texas Parks & Wildlife’s ongoing efforts to improve and
expand fish habitat resources within Lake Ray Roberts.
T: Time-bound: Complete all construction and installation activities by August 31, 2026.

Please describe the project methods. Will the product be used in conjunction with existing habitat restoration efforts on the reservoir? Will the product supplement natural brush, rock, or other materials being added to the reservoir?

The project will construct PVC frames measuring approximately 60” x 60” x 30.” Each frame will
be filled with 50 feet of perforated tubing combined with natural brush to provide structure and habitat. Two frames will then be securely lashed together and anchored using six cinder blocks to ensure stability on the reservoir floor. In addition, some units will be enhanced with
Mossback fish attractors, which add extra vertical height and complexity, further supplementing the natural brush, rock, and other materials being introduced as part of ongoing habitat restoration efforts.

Will state fish and wildlife agency staff be directly involved in the project? How so (planning, site selection, participation in installation)? Is there an associated lake or habitat management plan that states the need for structural habitat enhancement?

List the species that the project is expected to benefit:

Crappie, Catfish and Black Bass

How do you plan to conduct outreach and advertise the project? (Examples: on-site signage, press releases, websites, message boards)

The structures will be placed on existing, clearly marked brush piles to ensure visibility and
accessibility. In addition, project updates and structure locations will be shared through various social media platforms to reach a broad audience and encourage community engagement.
